New Scientists are a four-piece indie rock band to watch out for! Comparable to Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes and Blur in their signature indie sound with influences from psychedelic and grunge. They combine melodic riffs and crystal-clear vocals with the effortlessly cool grunge vibe that makes them so listenable and so damn likeable. About to burst onto the scene with the release of their debut EP Family Portraits, keep your ears peeled! And be prepared for their sensational track "Again" to be stuck in your head forever- you're welcome.
In 2017 New Scientists signed with New Black Records who later released their official debut EP 'Family Portraits' in January of 2018. The EP is now available from all major music retailers / streaming platforms.
Here's what Outline magazine had to say about them after a headline show at Epic Studios in Norwich in January -
'I have been told a lot - and I mean a LOT - of good things about New Scientists so, being a natural cynic, I wasn’t actually expecting that much from them. Well, I am very pleased to report that my cynicism was entirely misplaced. Their’s is a grungey take on Britpop, with a distinct hit of alt.rock to it. Early Arctic Monkeys are probably the closest comparison, but there’s also suggestions of Pixies, Blur and Nirvana. For older readers, I will also throw in Senseless Things and, in the interplay between bassist Jas and the rest of band, Eight Legged Groove Machine-era Wonder Stuff. New Scientists have the songs, the confidence and the stagecraft to go a long, long way and, for those that care about such things, the collective boyish good looks aren’t exactly a hinderance' - Pavlis of Outline Magazine.
The boys plan to keep making great new and original music but in the meantime be sure to check out all of their latest material on Spotify, Itunes, Deezer, Amazon Music, Google Play, Apple Music or wherever it is you find it! You can also find copies of their EP 'Family Portraits' via the New Black Records website and their latest music videos on YouTube.

Tom Malachowski is an up and coming Blues/Folk musician from humble beginnings in the small city of Norwich, Norfolk in the U.K with influences taken from the very roots of blues and folk music. From legends like John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Bob Dylan to current artists such as Sea Sick Steve.
You wouldn't know when hearing his phenomenal vocals or bone tingling guitar solos but Tom didn't begin performing until later on in life though he has always had a passion for blues, folk and roots music. Having only picked up the guitar to play seven years ago to now being a sensational musician he has come leaps and bounds since releasing his first album in 'Roots' 2015 playing in local pubs and taverns and now standing out from the crowded scene to being discovered in 2017.
Upbeat blues, stomping and a sensational heavy depth and tone sum Tom Malachowski up! His voice will blow you away, leave you wanting more and have you up and moving in the most infectious of ways.
